Q: Who are you guys?
A: Broken Gaming is a gaming group located in Easton, Pennsylvania. Our
members are at any time fluctuating in levels of activity, and some who
appear in earlier games no longer game with us, but we still count them
amongst our ranks. However, the membership of people we count amongst
our ranks, current activity or not, is 25. We fluctuate in age demographic
from the youngest in their teens to the eldest in the latter half of their early
twenties. The average active age in Broken Gaming is currently 22.
Q: What's wrong with you freaks, anyway? Are you some kinds of distant
psycho Satan worshippers with no social life?
A: Quite the contrary, you slobbering hooligan. We're a group of rather
well-adjusted people with our own social lives, family, jobs, hobbies, and
interests. We just happen to be friends, share similar hobbies, and similar
twisted senses of humour. Gamers are, for the most part, normal people
like everybody else. We just happen to like pretending to be holy knights or
powerful sorcerors an evening or two out of the week. However, D&D does
make us Satan worshippers. It's evil and your kids should avoid it. Klaatu
Barada Nikto.
Q: Are there any girls there?
A: Yes, there are girls. Currently, Luna and Liz are the only constantly active
girls in Broken Gaming, however, we boast a general membership of 7.
Q: What game systems do you all play?
A: Good question. Pathfinder, D&D 3.5, D&D 3.0, D20 Modern, D20 Modern
Gammaworld, D20 Future, D20 Call of Cthulhu, Percentile Call of Cthulhu,
Deadlands, Deadlands Hell on Earth, old World of Darkness, new World of
Darkness, Savage Worlds, Paranoia, and Marvel Universe are the systems
we currently play. We also dabble in other systems occasionally.
Q: What's this D&D setting I've never heard of? Skarhun?
A: Pronounced Ska-roon, Skarhun is an alternate universe, post-apocolyptic,
FUBAR-ed version of Toril, or Forgotten Realms. Its name is a perversion of
the name of Toril's continent of Faerun. It is Ken's personal homebrew of
awesome, and contains an eastern continent which is a stylized version of
Rokugan from Oriental Adventures. Skarhun is somewhere between high
fantasy and steampunk, and is home to many campaigns, especially run by
Ken. Skarhun was created through a series of events following the
completion of the campaign module: The Apocolypse Stone, by Joe's Broken
Dagger party, The Chosen Ones. Essentially, the apocolypse happened, and
two worlds were created. After a long series of events that made up the
Broken Sword campaign, Skarhun broke off from Toril, which now exists as if
The Apocolypse Stone had never happened, and Skarhun now rests in its own
cozy home on the prison plane of Carceri.
Q: Cancer?
A: Ken had cancer. He's ok now.
Q: So, what the hell IS Edgar, anyway?
A: Well, we know he changes ethnicity daily, to throw us off the trail, but we
have reason to believe he's actually a French umber hulk... or a Mexican
staring frog of Southern Sri Lanka.
In truth, he's Colombian.
Q: What's with that Qleppy/Kleppy kid? Why did his nickname change, and
how the shit do you say it?
A: Qleppy's nickname has always been at heavy debate over its spelling, as
everyone spelled it different. In an attempt to put it to rest, Qlep decided to
make an official spelling of it, Q-L-E-P-P-Y. It's pronounced the same, but
spelled with his favourite letter at the front. And Luna desires to murder him
for messing with site continuity.
Q: On a similar note, why is Fox/Phawks listed as Fox in quote credits, but
Phawks on the member page and any other references to him?
A: Fox is Phawks' last name. A lot of people call him by this. He adopted the
new spelling as a form of nick name/pen name some time into his tenure in
the group, and Luna didn't want to be arsed with recrediting all of his quotes.
Never again.
Q: Are you ever going to finish the site?
A: The site's in a constant state of construction. It'll be a while before
everything's up and running, but it's getting there, slowly. We'll keep y'all
posted on any new stuff, as always.
Q: There's a lot of racist/sexist/gaybashing in the quotes. Are you guys
racist/sexist/homphobes?
A: No, we just have a very internets-type sense of humour. In other words:
little is sacred. We contain different races, sexual preferences, and genders
in our group, and really don't hate on others like that. We just find a lot of
inappropriate stuff really funny.
Q: Who draws the artwork on the layout?
A: That would be Luna. She's the site's webmistress.
Q: You seem to have lots of games that are on hiatus. What's that all about?
A: For some games, like the Hunter teams, we only play during the summer.
Others are usually big, long-running campaigns that we either run out of
time for, the DM gets burnt out on, or the DM can't keep up with writing for it
because of school or something. We find a good place to cliffhang the game,
and hand the reigns over to another DM or campaign for a while.
Q: Okay, another name question. What's with Joe/Jo? Why the name
change, and the lack of continuity?
A: Jo has changed her name, as she is MTF trans, and prefers the feminized
spelling. Out of respect, her credits as of her return to the group are as
such, but due to the immense amount of backwork it would entail, her past
credits shall most likely continue to remain masculine.
Q: So the answer to half of these questions is, "Luna is a lazy fuck," isn't it?
A: ...no comment.
